Rukmini Tankha

Rukmini Tankha has 14 years of experience in the development sector in India. Her research focuses on social protection, gender equality, labour and employment, livelihoods, migration, the informal economy, governance and development planning. In particular, she has been engaged in research and evidence generation on gender dimensions of large-scale social protection programmes and women’s collectives. She has worked with a range of stakeholders including UN and international agencies, research institutes and civil society organisations. Her work has been published by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, UN Women, UNESCO and UNICEF, IDS Bulletin and Economic & Political Weekly. She contributed to the process documentation of the WorkFREE project, highlighting its innovative design and strategies involved in the rollout of the pilot.
